Carol A. Parker, 78, of Enfield, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Windsor Rehab in Windsor. The daughter of the late Daniel and Clarice (Dubow) Cooney who passed only two days apart in 2006, Carol was born in Boston, MA and lived most of her life in Enfield and was a longtime communicant of Holy Family Church. Carol was formerly employed at Parkway Pavilion as a Dietary Aide for many years. She was a talented artist and loved oil painting as well as gardening, although she openly admitted she didn't have a green thumb. She was also an avid animal lover, especially dogs. She is survived by her three daughters, Kimberly Parker -Phillips of Enfield, Tracey Ruvolo and her husband Mike of Enfield, Courtney Patsch and her husband Chris of Windsor Locks; her five adoring grandchildren, Garrick, Rylan, and Shannon Phillips, Danay Ruvolo, Brielle Scanlan and her husband, John; her sister-in-law, Lucia Cooney; a nephew, Mark Cooney; two nieces, Kathy Falce and Michelle Cooney; and her beloved canine friend Nellie. Carol was predeceased by a brother, Daniel Cooney, Jr. The family would like to give a special thank you to her nephew, Mark for his many acts of kindness shown to Carol throughout the years. Calling hours will be held on Sunday June 12, 2016 from 4 pm to 6 pm at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. Family and friends will gather at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels for a procession to Holy Family Church for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Committal will follow at St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery. Donations in Carol's memory may be made to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111.
