John G. Taglieri of Somers, Connecticut passed away peacefully on December 7, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mildred Musco Taglieri, his daughter Tara Taglieri and Dave St. Laurent, daughter Michele Pena and Rick Sandner, his son Thomas Taglieri and Teryl Taglieri, sons Robb Taglieri and the late Jay Taglieri, late son-in-law Angel Pena, and grandchildren Melissa, Sara, Christian and Sofie. John's siblings include Catherine McKernan and husband Leo, the late Richard Taglieri and wife Ginny, and the late Madeline Wilcox and husband Freddy. John was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on November 30, 1926 to Paul and Catherine Taglieri. John grew up in Jersey City, served in the United States Navy, and married Mildred in 1954. They raised their five children in Ridgefield, New Jersey and in 1976 John and Mildred moved to Somers Connecticut where he continued his work as an upholsterer. In his later years John opened, and till the day of his passing, operated J. G. Taglieri Upholstery on Main Street in Manchester, Connecticut. John was an active parishioner for many years at St. Luke's Church in Ellington where he served on the Parish Council and was a member of the Small Faith Community. John's positive outlook on life and loving sarcastic wit will be deeply missed by all. A memorial mass is being held on January 8th at 10:30 at St. Luke's in Ellington. A family mass will take place at St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, Ridgefield, New Jersey.
