Obituary for Jeannine Y. Leroux (Rivard)

Jeannine Y. Leroux, 87, formerly of Enfield, beloved wife of the late Roland Alderic Leroux, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at Hartford Hospital. She was born in Bellingham, MA on August 1, 1929, daughter of the late Oscar and Cecile (Desmarais) Rivard. She was raised in Woonsocket, RI prior to moving to Connecticut in 1953. Jeannine was a resident of the Enfield community for over 60 years and was a communicant of St. Patrick Church. She was employed in many retail stores during her life, including Cadoret Jewelers , Grants, and G-Fox/ Macy's. Jeannine had a passion for interior design, decorating her home for each holiday with handmade floral designs. She enjoyed traveling around the country with her husband in their camper to visit family and friends. She was an avid shopper especially at Hallmark for the many cards she gave during her lifetime. Jeannine is survived by three loving daughters, JoAnne Kremer and her husband Rick of East Windsor, Catherine Scoville and her husband Dale of Andover, and Charlene Badeau and her husband Andy of North Granby; a daughter-in-law Michelle Weeks and her husband Bob of Enfield; 13 beloved grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a brother, Andre Rivard and his wife Geraldine of Glastonbury; a sister, Alice Hirth of Manchester and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Roland she was predeceased by a son, Marcel Leroux, brother, Oscar Rivard, and a sister, Lucie Pelletier. Relatives and friends may join the family for calling hours on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, CT. A funeral procession will gather on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, 64 Pearl Street, Enfield, CT. Burial will follow in Enfield Street Cemetery. Memorial donations in Jeannine's memory may be made to the donors local chapter of the American Heart or American Lung Association.
