Leigh H.  Rider Jr.
Leigh H. Rider, Jr., 78, of Enfield, CT loving husband of the late Sandra C. (Insolia) Rider entered into Eternal Rest on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at St. Francis Hospital. Leigh was born October 30, 1939, in Hartford, CT the son of the late Leigh Sr., and Elizabeth (Dovin) Rider. He proudly served his country in the Connecticut Army National Guard. Leigh along with his wife owned and operated Holly Tree Campground in Ashaway, R.I. from 1981-1988 and Lake Williams Campground in Lebanon. He was a member of the Connecticut Campground Owners Association. Leigh was active in Boy Scouts where served as a Scout Master for several years and was a member of the Connecticut Rivers Council. He collected electric trains and enjoyed spending time at the Camp Ground and Archery when time allowed. Leigh is survived by his four children, Joseph Rider and his wife, Rosemary of Conway, SC, Brian Rider and Linda Hutt of West Hartford, Patrick Rider and his wife, Cynthia of Farmington and Leann Rider and Greg Cousens of North Stonington; his grandchildren, Ashley Rider, Brittany Nascimento and her husband, Chris, Dustin, Christopher and James Rider, Kristy Rider and Ryan Murphy, Meagan and Daniel Rider and Colin Hutt; his two great grandchildren, Hailey and Skylar Nascimento; two brothers, Kenneth Rider and Sandy Scott of RI, and Dennis Rider of Enfield, CT; a sister, Janice Margolfo and her husband, Paul of Enfield and several nieces and nephews. Leigh was predeceased by two sisters, Darlene Colapinto and Karen Rider. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, from 10 am to 12 noon at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral service in celebration of Leigh's life will begin at 12 noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hazardville Cemetery.
