Obituary for Clement E Boisvert

Print
Clement “Clem” Eugene Boisvert, 88, of Enfield, CT, entered into Eternal Rest on Wednesday night, September 19, 2018 at Heritage Hall North in Agawam, MA, where he quickly succumbed to the final stages of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. Clem was predeceased by his wife, Yolande (Hebert) Boisvert, in November 2012.
Born December 23, 1929 in Concord, New Hampshire, he was the fourth son of Alpha and Corrine (LeCompte) Boisvert. Clem grew up in Concord with his three brothers, Laurent, Martin and Paul before the family moved to Manchester, New Hampshire for a short period and afterwards to Hartford, Connecticut. Clem worked as a sheet metal worker from 1948-1951 at Spencer Turbine in West Hartford before enlisting in the US Army on December 4, 1951 where he served in Germany for two years during the Korean War.
While living in Hartford, Clem met Yolande, the love of his life, and they were married on June 27, 1953 at St. Anne Church. After having two daughters, they purchased their forever home in 1958, and moved to Enfield where together they raised their family and shared 59 years of marriage. His home was his castle and the rocking chair in the kitchen was his favorite seat in the house. Memories of him singing and playing the harmonica in his younger years will always be cherished, but mostly Clem will be remembered for his good-humor and his love of people. Clem loved cards, playing Cribbage and was unbeatable at Checkers. They were communicants of St. Bernard Church and St. Lawrence Chapel.
Prior to his retirement in 1989, Clem had a 25-year career at Pratt & Whitney in the Experimental Research Center. There he learned how to weld and became certified after 10 years. While at UT Research Lab, he was proud to have worked on the Apollo program, Polaris missile and the Stealth Bomber. Also during his career, he joined the Sheet Metal Local 40 and worked in York, PA for two years.
Clement is survived by his two daughter, Nancy Caron and her husband Rene, of Enfield, Connecticut and Donna Lamb and her husband, of Springfield, Massachusetts; three grandchildren, E. Matthew Lamb, D.V.S., Rebecca Lamb, and Andrew Lamb and his wife Ellen Lamb, M.D.; and two great-grandchildren, Madeline and Noah Lamb. Clement was predeceased by his three older brothers but leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
Clement's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, September 24, from 4-7 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, CT. Family and friends may gather for a service celebrating his life on Tuesday, September 25, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Road, Bloomfield. To leave online condolences please visit www.leetestevens.com
